I think I have a thing for haunting yet beautiful songs. My Immortal - Evanescence and this song just blow me away. <3 But yes, the song and the picture is depressing. xD
When I heard this song, I was entranced. I had one of those moments where if I closed my eyes, I could picture a scene, and that scene was what I wanted to paint. The first idea was actually of her jumping off a building, but I figured I wasn't good enough for buildings yet. FEAR NOT. I WILL ATTEMPT TO SNEAK IN SOME BACKGROUNDS AND IMPROVE MY ARTIST SKILL SOON.
..So anyways, the idea I wanted to portray, more so the feeling, was of a woman throwing her life away as if she has already lost everything. I wanted to sort of.. capture the feel of helplessness and her embrace for the end. I didn't want to simply do a picture of someone hanging. I wanted to capture the true emotion, the climax of feeling as she readies the noose; As she holds onto the very thing that will end her. It adds a sort of depth to the image. It's not "This is a dead girl." This is "A girl who is GOING to die because of something beyond me." It's not just a thing. It's human. A human with a mind and a story.
..Sorry if I'm getting too deep, but yes. That's the process behind this image. Sorry if you just want to look at this picture because it's puurrrdy. xD
