She Loves Me.

I stare into her eyes. Her beautiful glimmering eyes.
I hold her hand, and I speak my truth.

"I love you."

I let the words go. I let them run free.
But what will they do? Will they come back from her heart,
and carry an undying love?
Or will they not return at all?
What have become of those words?
My heart is choking on the fear of loss. Does she love me? Will she love me?
Am I still alone?
Is her heart filled with love, or will those words find only blood?
I look to those eyes. Her eyes are closed shut.
I have been cut off. I have been left in the cold once more.
But her hand is still in mine. I feel the warmth.
Her eyes open.
Her lips move.

"I love you"

She loves me.
Just me.
I am with her.
I am free.
