Nervously sitting in the theater chair,
Holding my popcorn not knowing what else to do.
Sitting here, awkwardly looking beside me, at you.
I'm still new to this whole dating scene;
My stomach fills with butterflies...Or perhaps that's my spleen.
I never did well at anatomy; all I know is I'm scared
How do I act? How do I know if you care?
You look at me and smile in that side-way grin of yours
But I look away, bashful, and instead admire the floor.

I don't know much about poetry, but I gave it a shot.
This is for a competition my old teacher wanted me to do. Not sure if I can still hand it in.
If no-one gets it, it's about a guy who is secretly in love a girl. He has all this stress and problems, and the only thing that makes him happy, is the thought of the girl.
He thinks that he himself is a problem. So he doesn't want the girl to know of his love. She might feel afraid, and he doesn't want her to feel anymore pain. He just wants her to be happy. So he says that whether or not she loves him back, all he wants is the girl's smile. The most precious gift.
